A self-taught artist, Bina is always experimenting and learning new ways of expressing herself through art. Her art spans across various disciplines and mediums – powder rangolis, oil paintings, water colours, sketching, art on fashion, macrame, poetry, singing – all draw inspiration from her personal life and experiences, travels across the world, nature, Indian mythology and the everyday.
Born and raised in Mumbai, she now divides her time between the city and her country home. In her art studio, you will always find various materials living alongside her ever-brewing ideas to create something new.
In her 70th year, she embarked on a mission to translate the legendary poems of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s Gitanjali to Gujarati. Translated and sung by Bina and presented with her various artistic styles, all her songs are showcased on her YouTube channel.
Wherever Bina goes, to the mountains, a forest, a historical site or a city, one will always find her writing or sketching and immersed in her art.
